A Rip-Roaring Aussie Adventure In The Southern Ocean!

Adventure film maker Michael Dillon presents his international award-winning film The Great White Whale at Limelight Cinemas Ipswich on July 30.

Deep in the wild Southern Ocean, halfway between Australia and South Africa, an icy mountain rears almost 3000 metres out of the wild Southern Ocean like a great white whale. Five times it tried to kill those who first tried to reach its summit, yet back they sailed with legendary explorer Bill Tilman at the helm.

Join the crew on this epic 1960’s expedition to the smoking, glacier ringed volcano on Heard Island, Australia’s loneliest, most remote outpost. The beautifully shot expedition footage, the brilliant musical score, the quirky humour of the expeditioners, the utter boldness of the quest all add spice to one of the least known yet most audacious adventure tales of the 20th Century.
